The wiry, heavy-handed Belfast super-featherweight was named Irish Prospect of the year and journeyman Kristian Laight rates him among the top talents he’s faced in his 160 -fight career. Cacace was a top amateur – he won 150 of his 162 bouts, won Irish honours, boxed in European championships – and has yet to lose a round in the paid ring.

Emerald Promotions are disappointed to announce that the 6th April promotion at Devenish Complex has been postponed. Kris Hughes has had to pull out of the fight between him and Anthony Cacace due to breaking his finger in training on Thursday. At this stage we have been unable to find creditable opponents to deliver a competitive and entertaining evening of boxing that Emerald Promotions are associated with and the paying fans deserve.

Emerald Promotions are back at the Devenish Complex in Belfast on the 6th April for the first show of the year.
The main event will be Anthony Cacace v Kris Hughes who took on Carl Frampton for the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Title last January.
The card will also include Ray Ginley, Joe Hillerby, Gerard Healy and Dee Walsh. Rest of the card to be confirmed shortly.

DEE ‘Wlado’ Walsh is back in boxing and has become the latest Emerald Promotions jewel.
The boxing barber threatened retirement at the tender age of 23 and after just five pro fights when his fight on Hennessy Sports last Belfast show was pulled last minute.
A frustrated Walsh(5-0) said he would never fight again having become disillusioned with the political and financial wrangling’s of the fight game.

Boxing came back to Dublin for the first time in over a year and a half over the weekend, but not surprisingly it was a fighter from the current capital of Irish boxing, Belfast who caught the eye.
